I'm only partially into this book but I think much better reading than "The Steel Bonnets". The book " The Reivers" points out how most records were reports sent to London by the English Wardens and how the Scots record keeping was poor or lost due to fires.
Therefore most records are very one sided in the favor of the English raiders. The Steel Bonnets is the most entertaining yet informative serious works of history I have read.
